Real-Time Architectural Visualization :: This section of the gallery holds some examples of commercial architectural visualizations I've done in the past. Part of the modeling was done by my colleagues, I did the execution of the projects in CryEngine 3 and Unreal Engine 3 / UDK. The goal was to make the quality of these visualizations similar to Vray or Mental Ray renders.

Environments :: The section holds examples of 3d environments intended either as still images or video game levels. The visualization work relating these was created using various software renderers and/or video game engines. Moreover, this section includes examples of photogrammetry, which is a process of matching 3d geometry to 2d photographs.

Se Velha de Coimbra Cathedral, 3d rendered photogrammetry example derived from a film camera photograph. The original and the 3d images are lined up side-by-side below.
Interior of Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild, 3d photogrammetry example. Initial camera match was performed via mathematical calculations and later backed-up by software camera matching.
“A Game of War“, Unreal Engine 3 level. More info available at the link.

3D Scanning »

3D Scanning :: This section holds examples of real-life objects digitized via 3d scanning and rendered in either real-time engines or software renderers. The work I have done regarding these includes: 3d scanning of the objects, data processing and clean-up, 3d modeling, texturing, and visualization. 3d scanning usually takes a good attention to detail and a whole lot of patience to deal with.

3d Scan of a male jacket. Multidirectional 3d scanning ensures the folds of the fabric have been accurately captured and do not suffer from noise or data loss.
3d Scan of a plaster sculpture. High-speed single-directional scanning.

Characters :: This section shows some low-poly video game characters I've done in the past. Each of the characters was made according to certain specs, carrying out the necessary texture maps: diffuse, normal and specular (where applicable). High poly versions have also been built using various 3d sculpting and modeling programs for the purpose of completing the low-poly final models.
